our missioN

We are a nonprofit organization bringing awareness and improving public health. It is our mission to educate and prevent future use of e-cigarrettes in teenagers and adolescents. Vaping and juul use is an incredibly important future public health issue. E-cigarettes are not regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration like conventional tobacco products and we do not know the long term harmful effects of vaping and juuling. We as an advanced society should not be willfully advertising these harmful products to the youth of today. In addition, we do not know the long term harmful effects of vaping and juuling on developing teenagers and adolescents. We have developed a curriculum for middle and high school students based on current epidemiological research and current law to educate teens and adolescents on the detrimental effects of these products. We will be conducting research on the effects of chemicals found in e-juice on certain cell types starting June 2020. We hope to demonstrate the strong toxicity in e-juice and in turn help government agencies decide which products to regulate or ban. This summer we are conducting research on how e-juice affects living organisms. Our research will help illuminate the unknown hazards of vaping and help manufacturers create safer vape products. We will also use our research to draft a piece of legislation for our county and state related to the use of vaping/juul use in teenagers and stop this epidemic. One hundred percent of all donations and proceeds of this organization will go towards awareness campaigns, research, and legislation.

We are looking for teens and adolescents to become ambassadors and lead awareness campaigns. Lets become leaders in the education of the harmful effects of vaping at our schools. Click button below for information and to apply.

Our advocacy and policy goals are as follows:

1.) REQUIRE MANUFACTURERS TO PAY A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE OF THEIR PROFITS OR SALES INTO A FUND THAT WOULD BE USED TO FUND EDUCATIONAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS ON THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF ENDS (ELECTRONIC NICOTINE DELIVERY SYSTEMs)

2.) INCREASE PRICE OR TAX OF E-CIGARETTES AND E-JUICE

3.) RESTRICT ADVERTISING NEAR SCHOOLS AND PARKS

4.) REGULATE VAPE SHOPS FROM OPENING NEAR SCHOOLS AND PARKS

5.) INCREASE REGULATIONS ON E-CIGARETTE PRODUCTS

6.) BAN FLAVORINGS

7.) INCREASE THE LEGAL AGE TO PURCHASE TOBACCO AND E-CIGARETTES/E-JUICE TO 21 IN OUR STATE OF GEORGIA

8.) INCREASE FINES TO SELLERS THAT ARE NOT ENFORCING THE LEGAL AGE TO PURCHASE E-CIGARETTE PRODUCTS

our call to action

Vaping-Attention To Prevention is a nonprofit organization bringing awareness and improving public health. We have no paid employees and 100% of all donations and proceeds of any sales made by this organization are used to fund school education programs, awareness campaigns, research, and legislation concerning vaping and juul use. It is our mission to educate and prevent future use of e-cigarettes in teenagers and adolescents.

The number of middle and high school students using e-cigarettes was 2.1 million in 2017 and increased to 3.6 million in 2018. The number of teens using e-cigarettes increases everyday. This is a health epidemic that must be stopped. Vaping and juul use is an incredibly important future public health issue. We do not know the long term harmful effects of these products. Teenagers, specifically, are especially susceptible to the harmful effects of these products because teens are undergoing brain and body development. Use of these products and exposure to its carcinogenic chemicals during growth and development could cause detrimental effects on a teens cell lines, genes, and organs. They can also develop addictive behaviors that open the door to the use of cigarettes and drugs. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not regulate e-cigarettes like it does regular tobacco products. We as an advanced society should not be willfully advertising and supplying these unregulated harmful products to teenagers. Vaping and juul companies must stop advertising to youth; and stop using flavorings that make them more appealing to teens.

We have developed a curriculum for middle and high school students based on current epidemiological research and current law to educate teenagers on the detrimental effects of these products. We have this curriculum available online for personal and school use through our website. We will be conducting research on the effects of chemicals found in e-juice on certain cell types. We hope to begin this research in June 2020 using bronchial epithelial cells and endothelial cells that line the circulatory system. This summer (2019) we are conducting experiments to find out how e-juice affects living organisms and hope to have results by December 2019. This research will help illuminate the unknown hazards of vaping on the environment. We hope to demonstrate the strong toxicity of e-juice and in turn help government agencies decide which products to regulate or ban. In addition, our research will help illuminate the unknown hazards of vaping and help manufacturers create safer vape products. With this knowledge we will draft a piece of legislation for our county and state related to the use of vaping/juul use in teenagers and help stop this epidemic.
